KERRYN TRACEY | ABOUT ME

After completing a Master’s degree in musical composition I studied as a music therapist through the University of Pretoria. The degree involves extensive practical and theoretical training, intensive supervision, and a written dissertation. I graduated in 2017 and have been a practising music therapist ever since.
During the music therapy degree, I gained experience with individuals and groups from a number of different client populations. These include children with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergence; children and adults with mental illness and/or challenges; those with physical challenges (with or without concurrent intellectual challenges); elderly clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s, general elderly care for frail care and assisted living groups, and a more outreach-based client group with children in an under-resourced area.
Since graduating, I have continued to work with the above client groups. I have also worked as a music therapist under contract for the NPO
MusicWorks, which seeks to support children and their communities in under-resourced areas.
I am currently a third level trainee in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). As such, I also offer sessions in this format.
I am currently offering a reduced fee for a number of GIM sessions
